EE up and running again, says sorry for widespread service outage

EE up and running again, says sorry for widespread service outageNetwork EE has apologised to customers who've been experiencing connection problems since last night, saying the issue has now been resolved.

The problem, which seemed to hit some SIM cards but not others – even on the same device – was first reported around 7pm yesterday.

It's not clear exactly what was causing the issue with the UK's leading provider, but EE is now advising anyone still having problems to go for the time-honoured remedy of switching their phones off and on again.

“Last night's technical issue that caused a small proportion of our customers to experience problems with their signal has been resolved and all customers are now receiving a normal service,” EE announced in a statement this morning.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to those customers affected.”

A friend works at EE and said it was something t do with the user authentication on the 4G network, the phone would look for the fastest signal then try to log-in with the users sim card which would fail :)
