Why cant I enter a domain?

I am using a works HTC HD2 Windows phone. I am trying to setup my works email (MS Outlook exchange server). I can enter my username, password but not the domain (it is greyed out). I get the option to enter a server but after all that whenever it trys to sync you just get an 'error synchronising'.

Does it need to be connected via USB first time round or is it some sort of network connection issue (i.e. with my service provider, Orange)? Dont seem to have any problems with calls/texts.

Not sure if its Windows Mobile or WIndows Phone 7.

The HD2 was\is a windows phone 6.5 phone. There is also the ability to run a number of different OS's, however its highly unlikely that the phone is anything but "stock" ie Windows Phone 6.5 as it was supplied by your company. As it also has the big clock (HTC sense) its even more likely to be WP6.5

Instead of entering your domain manually try adding domainname\username where you enter your username, this has the same effect as entering the domain.

Cheers

First up, if you've got the 'tablets; on the main screen and all you can do is scroll down, or right (to get the list of Apps) then it's 7. If however it resembles HTC's sense (the huge flip clock on the main screen) then it's Windows Mobile.
If it's a works phone then it will most likely be the latter.

Yeah it looks like HTC Sense with the big clock.
