Anyone had error reports from your sf / zte blade when u install a micro sd memory card 16 gb class 2 hc ?

Have followed your guides from here http://orangesanfrancisco.co.u.../
and installed Japanese Jellyfish ROM for OLED and TFT. BTW Thank you for that.
everything seems to be working A ok except for when i install my Kingston micro sd memory card 16 gb class 2 hc other info sdc2/16gb 09 16gb c16g japan also on the other side of card 1014 k06575c.
The problem is the SF/zte blade reports: Ongoing- preparing sdcard- checking for errors, sd card removed, insert new one. i cannot format sd card in the sf as the format link is not highlighted.
I know the sdcard works as i used it in my Tmobile pulse all the time and it still works in it as i have checked after removing from sf. i have also formatted using the pulse then put back in sf but sf still reports the same error, i have also formatted sdcard via my win7 32bit laptop using Panasonic formatter v2.0.0.3 but this makes no difference! why would it work in pulse but not sf! All help much appreciated ,Please HELP!

Unless I'm mistaken the memory card you're describing is a microSDHC card - the SF is specced for microSD only.
If you have a memory card reader, you could try and format the card with your PC/Mac/Linux, but I don't see the card working.
Trade it in for a microSD.

Thanks 4 ur reply, i also have a 8gb microsdhc and that works ok, i have just downloaded MiniTool Partition Wizard (which is free) http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html after looking here http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blade-blade-modaco-com/328982/guide-common-problems-questions-faq/
after running a surface test this shows no errors, so i dont know wot to do next!

I remember the original LG Viewty - that was specced for max 4GB micro SD yet some folks managed to use 8 and 16 GB cards... hm...what can I say? I'll have another look. From what I see there seems to be quite the variety of error when it comes to different cards on the SF. Loads of looping and rejection.
Anyone else?

found this Memory Cards
The ZTE Blade uses microSD (SDHC) cards and a 2gb card is provided with the phone. A class of 4 or higher is recommended for installing apps to the microSD card. Maximum supported card size is 32gb according to the Orange website. Some users have reported issues (cannot format, disappearing while in use, etc.) with some brands of larger cards. There has been more success with 16gb cards than 32gb cards. from here http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/ZTE_Blade
looks like u might be correct, so may have to fork out for new microsd, but whats the correct class, thats the lottery of it all!

My Daughter has a 16Gb Class 2 in her SF. Works just fine.
Class affects mainly write speed but for her use (listing to music mainly) it's just fine.

I had whacky random reboot issues when connected to USB as well as not, "SD unmounted" issues and even "SD Corrupt" messages with a Kingston 16GB Class 4 SDHC.

Just swapped for a Toshiba 16GB Class 2 card and so far so good. Ironically SDTools reports the Class 2 Toshiba outperforms the Class 4 Kingston. Toshiba model is SD-C16GR5W2 and using an OLED Blade.

@JanSt - all cards >4GB are microSDHC :
The SDSC (Standard-Capacity) card family, commonly known as SD, has an official maximum capacity of 2 GB, though some are available up to 4 GB. The SDHC (High-Capacity) card family have a capacity of 4 GB to 32 GB. (The availability of 4 GB capacity in both the SD and SDHC families have caused much compatibility confusion with users since each has a slightly different communication protocol)
