EU phones from Expansys

What's the story with warranties for EU phones, as sold by Expansys? (For example the LG G3).

Would they be a pain to get fixed under warranty, or does EU extend to the UK?

All phones will be a pain to fix under warranty, irrespective which phone it is and where you got it. You need to ship it, wait 2 - 3 weeks, get your phone back and find out it was not repaired or get someone else phone back with different problem. If you get lucky it will actually get fixed.

What you looking for in terms of warranty is giving your broken phone and getting a brand new one. This is because phones are never repaired, its cheaper to recycle than to repair.

Amazon seems to be least hassle to deal with. Retail stores come next. Getting extended warranty similar to what retail stores sell extra fee comes with least problems.

Another thing to watch out for would be phone damage. Manufacturers will not repair any phone if it has physical damage - cracked screen, cracked case, chipped off/smashed corners, etc.

When buying online you only concerned with return policy. How long can you keep phone and return for full refund. If there is something wrong with your phone you will find during first month, afterwards it's not likely something will break - there are no moving parts there.

Proof of purchase can always be faked. I doubt any manufacturer will actually verify where you bought your phone and how long ago. Then again, I don't think manufacturers fix any phones - all repairs are outsourced.
