Would it be excessive to buy an iPhone and an iPod touch?

Do you think it'd be excessive to buy a 16GB iPhone and a 16GB iPod touch? Generally I like keep phone and mp3 player separate (partly for battery reasons), but it seems a bit much! :p

Yeah...that's pretty much a total waste of money. If battery life is of such great concern to you, why are you buying an iPhone to begin with? Even when they're not crippled by iOS 7.1.1, the battery life doesn't come close to some of the 3000mah+ Android phones (many of which also have removable batteries).

Only reason I can think of: iPod Touch sounds better. Much better? No.
If you buy and iPod Touch and a feature/dumbphone, that'd make some sense....

Also: in my experience listening to music on an iPhone is the least of your problems when it comes to battery performance. Just keep the screen off.
And what's worse: charging one device a bit more often or keeping track of 2?

Also: at this point why bother at all? Wait for the new model/s - bigger screen = more room
for battery. iPads show Apple CAN if they want...
