We’ll take this leak with a pinch of salt till Sammo dishes the official dirt, however a spec sheet purportedly detailing Exynos 5 goodness has been doing the rounds.
It essentially builds on what we’ve been told to expect from Exynos 5 to date, with lots of interesting numbers and that. Y’know, if you’re into that kind of thing.
According to the leak, the first wave of Exynos 5 devices will rock dual ARM Cortex-A15 cores running at 2GHz. We expect it’ll make its debut on a tablet rather than a smartphone.
As for graphics, Exynos 5 will adopt the ARM Mali T-604 MP4 GPU, with – I’ll quote the spec sheet directly here: “2.1Gpixels/s rendering and up to 12.8Gbytes/s memory bandwidth guaranteeing best 3D graphics performance”.
Finally, we’ve got ARM’s Artisan Advanced Physical IP based on Samsung’s Foundry 32nm low power High-K Metal Gate process technology.
Chances are it’ll be much later in the year before we meet the first Exynos 5 device. Put us down for £10 on Q4. Until then, you’ll have to make do with the likes of the paltry (ahem) quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 Samsung Galaxy S III.
