Facebook Home, the social networking giant’s homescreen takeover thingy, has been available for around 10 days, and it appears to be going down a storm with Android users.
Glancing at the Google Play stats, Facebook Home for Android has been downloaded somewhere in the region of 500,000 to 1,000,000 times.
That figure’s all the more impressive when you consider that Facebook Home is currently only officially supported by the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note II, HTC One X and HTC One X+
It’ll also be compatible with the HTC One and the imminent Samsung Galaxy S4, the latter arriving on Saturday this week.
However, while those figures might sound quite impressive, scrolling down to Google Play user reviews reveals an average 2.2 star rating.
Indeed, of the 11,359 users who’ve submitted a review at the time of writing, a whopping 5,880 elected to give Facebook Home just one star out of five. Oh dear.
One of the main complaints about Facebook Home appears to be battery life, alongside bugs and general limitations with the software.
If you’re feeling left out (and undeterred by the negative feedback), check out Jan’s cheeky post from last weekend, which details how to install Facebook Home on unsupported devices.
