Facebook and Twitter get BBM-connected

Facebook and Twitter get BBM-connectedAny BlackBerry users left out there?

Ah - there's one. OK, well you might like this if you're into your social networking. Facebook and Twitter are now BBM-connected apps.

Basically, that means that your latest status updates and tweets can also be used as your BBM personal messages. It's as simple as clicking the 'share with BBM' icon that appears when you update your apps.

“You can also opt to share tweets or Facebook updates with your BBM contacts in one centralised location,” RIM says.

To get your hands on v3.0 of the Facebook and Twitter apps, head on over to the BlackBerry App World and get updating.

The App World itself has also been ushered in through the BBM door, meanwhile, with version 6.2 of the messaging service allowing you to share your favourite apps directly with your BBM contacts. Oh, and it also gives you live previews of new animated avatars.

It is so annoying... this BBM connected bullsh*t! I never use BBM, but now half the apps won't work without BBM! That's right: this great feature is NOT just an additional OPTION.
Once an app is BBM-connected, it needs BBM on your phone. And BBM has to be constantly updated, whether you want it or not. And when BBM is then updated by RIM, all those 3rd party apps need to be updated, and vice versa...
