How does the Nokia N8 actually detect faces? Occasionally my N8 “sees” faces in weird places. Spooky!

I suppose a sensor analyses the landscape for certain features that are indicative of what we call a face - 2 dots (eyes) in a certain position relative to a longish smudge (mouth) etc etc .... my musings aside: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_does_facial_recognition_software_work
Since it is software designed by humans, like us, Nokia's system may overdo the pattern-seeking...we see faces in cloud-formations, so does the N8 now and again.
