What's the fastest data speed in the UK?

On my HTC Desire, "H" seems to be the fastest data connection. What speed is that?

H is HSDPA which uses the 3G carrier to compress data and achieve a higher transfer rate. H can be 1.8Mbps, 3.6Mbps or 7.2Mbps.
At work on H I get 1.8Mbps on the Orange network. On a good day this can get to 3.6Mbps though I have in the past found a spot that gave me 7.2. Can't remember where that was though :/

Depends massively, a few Mbps is about as good as you'll reasonably get on HSDPA (what the H stands for), in the UK. 3UK and T-Mobile both use HSDPA+ in some areas, though it's not that much faster than HSDPA in my experience, usually has lower latency times though.

Basically to answer your question simply, it varies massively but usually not over a couple of Mbps.

Actually thinking about it, it was a Vodafone SIM that gave me 7.2.
That's why I can't find it again, being on orange.
