Faulty iPhone charger epidemic?

Anyone else heard of lots of iPhone chargers starting to act funny all of a sudden - loose connections etc? It's a conspiracy I tell ya :p

No, I haven't heard anything of the sort. Pretty sure the world's iPhone chargers aren't able to communicate with each other and conspire to simultaneously fail, though ;).

Have tens of millions of people, and you get stupid.
I read this article yesterday about a dude whose iPhone 4 caught fire while charging. No damage to his house, but he felt Apple offering him a new iPhone wasn't enough, because his house "could have been damaged"... C'mon. None of the sites that reported the story with fake outrage went into details such as how old, or if the charger was original. Had the battery been exposed to heat etc... THEY offered a free replacement. Case closed.

It's typical pre-new-iPhone stuff. Dig up anything to write about Apple. Good or bad or improbable.
With the iPhone 5 there's the added 'issue' that many people want to avoid having to invest in new chargers and docks etc, so they buy rubbish. And, I suppose, people who think a 50 cent charger is just peachy are more likely to also think you can charge a wet iPhone or one with an expanded case because of a damaged battery etc etc. Another issue is that many folks don't wanna spend money on getting a cracked screen fixed. The phone seems to work, so "whatever"... The problem is that underneath those cracks there sometimes lies more than just cosmetic damage,

People, so the myth, try to dry puppies in microwave ovens. I don't find that hard to believe.
There are many many many really stupid people.
