There’s a fair bit of excitement around today surrounding a set of pics that may reveal the final design of the Samsung Galaxy S IV, which launches on Thursday in case you’d forgotten.
Of course, they might also not reveal the final design, which depending on who you are either just adds to the excitement or cements your indifference.
First, though, to the facts, such as they are. Chinese forum 52Samsung has surfaced a series of 10 high-quality snaps supposedly of the Samsung GT-I9502, or the Galaxy S IV to you and me.
It’s claimed to be the dual-SIM version heading for China Unicom, but that wouldn’t make any difference from a design point of view to the single-SIM version we’ll be seeing in the UK.
What will make a difference, though, is if the product being shown isn’t actually the GS4, or is simply a prototype or purposefully released fake. SammyHub for one suggests the shape of the leaked cases it’s seen point to a more squarish design.
But supposing this really is the same Samsung Galaxy S IV we’ll be seeing unveiled on Thursday, it’s interesting just how unremarkable Samsung’s flagship is on the design front.
I’m not saying it’s ugly at all. I just mean looks will probably contribute less towards people’s overall opinion of it than is the case with any of its rivals. Agree or disagree? Have your say in the Comments.
