Flood-It! 2 iPhone review

Flood-It! 2 iPhone reviewYas! I’ve finally managed to finish a board in Flood-It! 2. Praise the Heavenly Father. Not that He had anything to do with it; I did all the heavy lifting.

It’s kinda hard to articulate just how Flood-It! 2 works, but essentially the screen is comprised of coloured pixels, and the aim is to flood the screen with one colour.

“You start from the top left corner and progress by selecting one of the coloured balls at the bottom of the screen,” explains the developer. “When you change your current area color, every adjacent square with the same colour also changes, that way you can flood other areas of the board.”

If that sounds a little confusing, don’t be put off. You’ll get the hang of it after a few taps of the screen. It’s dead easy to pick up.

Flood-It! 2 mixes things up a little with three different challenge modes (on top the normal game). There’s “Think fast!” in which you have 90 seconds to finish the board, “Move Around” which includes obstacles, and “Last Color Is” where you have to complete the board on a specific colour.

In ye old Options menu, you can set the board size to small, medium or large. The latter is fairly intimidating, and probably best saved till after you’ve had a play around on the smaller boards.

You can also change the colour scheme, and there’s even an option for colour blind folk. How cool is that?

Oh, I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned the price yet. Flood-It! 2 is abso-bloomin’-lutely free.

Pros

  • 3 challenge modes
  • Different board sizes
  • It’s free!

Cons
