Force Twitter Desktop version in Safari on iPad (and other mobile browsers)

I can be a bit thick sometimes... but this has been bugging me for months. But not enough to do anything beyond a quick Google search.
Anyhoo: When you visit twitter.com with Safari on the iPad, you come to the mobile version of Twitter. Always. Usually, on many (but not all) mobile devices a link on the mobile site allows you to switch to the Desktop version. Not so in Safari. The link is inactive. Invisible.

Here's how to switch:
Visit the mobile site with Safari (or your other troublesome mobile browser), log into your Twitter account.
Then: type https://mobile.twitter.com/settings/change_ui in the address bar and go... that should take you to the full Twitter page.

The same thing happened to me, also. I'd been using the above referenced link for quite some time. Now it doesn't work!

Twitter keeps changing it... Use another browser. Dolphin, Opera Mini etc etc... they let you visit the full site.

I use an old iPhone 3GS, with older iOS (bc I do not want to lose pictures stored on phone that I can't remove)
All of a sudden, yesterday whe I go to twitter.com and am redirected to mobile.twitter.com, I get nothing but a blank screen. It acts like it is resolving the URL, but just she's a blank screen. No other url's have a problem.

Have you tried some more? Twitter could've been acting up - as it does?! The 'older OS' shouldn't stop your iPhone from accessing mobile Twitter. Tried another browser? Chrome or Opera etc?

Also, why can't you remove those photos? Have you tried iTools? Or iExplorer?

How weird?! Have you cleaned history, cookies and cache in Settings => Safari???

I just tried it on my lady's iPod Touch (iOS4 something) via WiFi without problems.
That reminds me: are you on WiFi or 3G? And the iPad the same network?
