Is it free to use home Wi-Fi on my new smartphone?

I've been using my new smartphone through the home Wi-Fi a LOT! Just want to make sure it's free. I mean it doesn't come out of my data allowance? That's separate -- right?

you are right. Data allowance is for when you are on the 3G network. This is usually displayed as either 3G, or H on the notification bar of your phone. So when you're not connected to wifi you'll use your data.

When you're connected to wi-fi at home/friends or anywhere (as long as it's not a public hotspot, like at a hotel where they might charge you) then you can use as much as you want.
