Future iDevices to feature display 'privacy mode'?

Companies like Apple tend to file patents thick and fast to protect potential innovations, but we've just spotted one over on Geeky Gadgets that could be a real drawcard to future iPhones, iPads and the like. It describes a way of directing the light beams from the display in a specific direction, effectively allowing you to keep what's on screen very much for your eyes only.

No, the patent is about adjustable viewing angles ;)
You would be able to browse privately on the bus, but widen the angle when showing off Angry Birds #16853 to your mates in the pub...

You can already do this with certain screen protectors so i don't find it very exciting
