Nice... Maybe not £400-nice, but nice.

Totally agree but recalled that Matt was interested before even when that price was mooted.

Good work with the pics :)

To be honest - I hadn't heard of this before, and I'm somewhat tempted... I got a decent digital camera, but the menus suck. Between toying with 2 to 4 different phone OSs all the time, I cannot get my head around those fiddly camera UIs... THIS however looks very good.

I may just have to rethink my budget LOL Good thing none of the current phone bunch are that interesting; My N9 works; the Lumia 920 will probably cost iPhone 5 kinda money in these woods (and it's M$)....
hmmm....
Or, I wait for the iCam? ;)
Reminds me: I still haven't seen a single decent offer for a used or new Pureview 808...

If it's anything like their non android cameras in a similar style it'll drop from there quite nicely anyway.
Specs seem a little iffy, no sim but hsdpa of 21mbps and optional lte? Battery looks a touch low maybe.
You wink but if this sells well....
True, 808 very thin on the ground

JanSt / MOD  Nov. 5, 2012 at 16:44

I agree... this cam will be down 50% in 6 months time. Good :D

And: I could really see an Apple camera sell really well. IMHO it'd make more sense than iPod Touch...

Pondlife  Nov. 5, 2012 at 16:48

Not for them, not so much content to sell people...

JanSt / MOD  Nov. 5, 2012 at 16:49

True... good point.

PONDI... there is loads... theirs...

angry birds camera edition (add angry birds into your photos)

photo editing software easy £100 and make the camera's photos a unique format which only works with that software..

video editing software.. the same as above but an extra £150...

camera - £590

ipad/iphone compatibility software £50... Android £50 extra

Pondlife  Nov. 5, 2012 at 17:14

Erm Nokia/wp got there first with angry birds photos. No they really did.

i think your wrong there pondi... apple have invented everything... EVERYTHING

Pondlife  Nov. 5, 2012 at 17:27

Ah ok, well I'm surprised that Nokia pre-emptively copied that idea as it seems pretty rubbish.

satchef1  Nov. 5, 2012 at 17:59

It has a speaker, a mic, a sim slot and runs Android. Would it be excessive to use it as a phone? :p

Looking forward to some reviews to see how it stands up to other compact cams, the 808 and SLRs.

AhmadCentral  Nov. 5, 2012 at 18:09

I have to say the 808 camera and microphone are out of this world for a device that compact + phone capabilities

AhmadCentral  Nov. 5, 2012 at 18:12

I wonder how the galaxy camera compares. I'd wait for reviews before splitting with the £400

Stelph  Nov. 6, 2012 at 06:09

Only 16MP? Get the purview for a more portable camera (and cheaper I think), as long as the 21x zoom isn't a deal breaker

Pondlife  Nov. 6, 2012 at 10:12

Good point. Hadn't noticed that, size and weight surprisingly in the pureviews favour. Not seen it cheaper though. Much nicer screen on this though, pureview will win on sensor and likely lens, but ui and speed and that zoom seem to be in Galaxy's favour.
