Google Nexus Prime to launch on October 19

Google Nexus Prime to launch on October 19The invitations have started to drop onto doormats around the world! Actually, they haven't - because Google is the last company that would use snail mail but they have started lighting up inboxes on all continents as the world waits for the Nexus Prime launch.

Let's get straight to the point: the event - which was originally pegged for October 11 and then cancelled - will take place in Hong Kong, as predicted earlier this week.

Although Sammy doesn't specifically say that the Nexus Prime will be the star of the show, it's widely known that both its new flagship handset and updated OS, Ice Cream Sandwich will be the focal points. Just check out the teaser video the South Korean giant posted recently.

The specs of the Nexus Prime are what's really got us drooling. There's a full list of the leaks here but they include a rather gorgeous sounding 1.5GHz dual core processor, 4.65-inch 1280 x 720 screen and 2050mAh battery.

We can't wait - even if it does mean staying up into the wee small hours, since the unveiling is pegged for 10am local time which means here in Blighty, it'll be 3am! Yawnsville!
