The Samsung Galaxy S II has been described by many as the best smartphone on the planet due to its high specs, but there's always room for improvement, we reckon.
And Samsung appears to agree, because it's rolling out an update to give us... bigger icons. Yep, that's it. Oh, and a new widget that lets you know when a software update is available.
So, when you pipe it in to your device, you'll notice have a 3x3 formation instead of the current 4x4 (hopefully with an option to disable).
We can't quite figure out the point, to be honest, and wonder if this really is Samsung's most pressing issue with the Galaxy S II that needs addressing?
GSM Arena muses that it may be to do with the current legal spat between Apple and Sammy, pointing out that it will look less like iOS once we're on bigger icons.
We're not massively convinced by that argument unless Apple really does hold a monopoly on 4x4 formations.
Why do you reckon it is? Enlighten us with your thoughts in the comments below.
Personally, we'd have preferred a slightly smaller option so that we could mimic the 5x5 the forthcoming Galaxy Note will get. Bah.
