Galaxy S XXJPY - is KOR a problem

My wife has a SGS which went in for repair on the microphone. Whilst there, they flashed the firmware to XXJPY, however on KIES it says the versions are:
PDA:JPY
PHONE:JPY
CSC:JPY (KOR)
Looking on Google (which is somewhat overwhelming), the version for the UK should be XEU. KIES also states 'This version of the device cannot be updated'. Any ideas if this will present any problems and I should be returning the handset and asking for the XEU version or if there's an easy way around it which will allow future updates to 2.3.

Cheers.

How to change CSC on Samsung Galaxy S
1. Just type *#272*Device IMEI# at Phone dial pad.
2. Select the CSC that you want.
3. Click Install.
4. Phone will be rebooted by itself.
5. That’s all.
You need to chose XEU for europe/UK
Note: This will wipe all your data so back up first

Well, the Samsung Galaxy S is ridiculously easy to root, so you could always head over to XDX Developers FORUM and get a 2.3 rom. But I'll check out your weird code conflict once I'm near a PC ;)

Anyone test eddysd5's method?

I haven't tested it on an SGS, but I have used the method a while ago on my SGS2. It works, that's about it really....
