Are giffgaff, O2 and Tesco independent?

Are giffgaff, O2 and Tesco independent? For example, do giffgaff-to-giffgaff minutes and texts work to those other networks?

What??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Are you asking whether you can use minutes/texts on more than one network?
Can you use your Tesco loyalty card in Sainsbury's?

Tesco and Sainsbury's are both supermarkets. I bet they even have same suppliers for a lot of things.

Sainsbury's does not have a loyalty card. Nectar is a joke and I can't make honey. ;)

Or more simply no, giff giff couldn't afford it to work like that and it wouldn't be in there interest of trying to get people on their network

all these use the O2 network to carry their calls and texts. Tesco and GG are MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators), meaning they have a deal with O2 to let them operate their network over the O2 infrastructure, but they only have to manage the customers and not the network.. O2 keeps all these virtual networks completely apart from eachother so there are no benefits to be had between O2 and it's MVNOs.

O2 and GiffGaff are both owned by Telefonica (the Spanish telecommunications giant), so they are kind of the same company. As far as I know, Tesco Mobile is simply an MVNO using O2's network, I don't think they have any further links to Telefonica.
