I’m hunting around for a SIM only/PAYG deal at the moment, and giffgaff definitely looks like the way to go. A tenner per month gets you 250 minutes, unlimited data and unlimited texts.

The allowance lasts for one month. You can change your “goodybag” (giffgaff’s pet name for “tariff”) each month if you so desire. All calls and texts to other giffgaff members are free.

If you fancy more talk time, the same deal with 400 minutes is £15PM; 600 minutes is £20PM; 1,500 minutes is £25PM.

giffgaff uses the O2 network.

The free Internet only seems to last until the 31st May

Mobile Internet:
Mobile Internet is free until 31 MAY (with a fair use of 100MB a day). After that date it will be charged at 20p a day. If you use less than 1MB/day you'll pay less than 20p and if you go over 20MB you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB.

That's only if you don't take out a "Goodybag" which includes unlimited internet, all Goodybags £10 and above will still include unlimited internet.

Not if you buy the GoodyBag. If you buy the Goodybag it is unlimited for that month.
Internet is currently free for those NOT on or outside their goodybag plan.

On giffgaff 250 minutes goes alot further than other networks, because freephone numbers starting 080 or 0500 are free. So use than unlimited internet to find an alternative freephone number for businesses. Also for your £10 top up to buy a goodybag you'll get free calls and texts and even video calls for 3 months to other giffgaff users.
