Your phone is sim-locked to the O2 network.

Who on earth told you it'd work on GiffGaff?

Why would O2 give you a heavily subsidised iPhone so that you can go to a cheaper network with it?

O2 will unlock the phone for £15.

Can you make calls but don't have data, or does nothing work? Is your iPhone sim-free? Or a giffgaff phone?

Fairly sure giffgaff don't do phones tbh, she said the phone is unlocked though

What phones do they have that your sim works in?
Does your sim physically look the same, same connection panels?
Did you get the sims at roughly the same time?

Yes, thanks pondlife.

Yes, thanks pondlife.

It should work even locked to O2 as giffgaff is on O2. I believe you just have to update the apn settings as they will be wrong.

Well they know it should work in this second instance as two other GG sims work in the phone.

If locked to o2 as in first instance though despite GG running on o2 network and being owned by same company it could still be prevented by sim lock. That one definitely isn't anything to do with APN as it wouldn't even acknowledge the sim.

My issue has now been resolved, I think the reason the iPhone would not even acknowledge my sim was because I transferred my old number over to Giffgaff.
I posted in the Giffgaff community and finally someone helped me fix the problem.

Turn Phone off, put giffgaff sim in, plug phone into iTunes (the phone should automatically turn on) sync phone with iTunes.

This resolved my matter straight away.
So happy! Its been a very long weekend with no phone lol

Thank you people.

Thanks. And: you're welcome.

I forgot to mention the iTunes update... oops. But that has been mentioned in so many threads here, I just forgot.
