Why won't GIFs play on my Android browser?
A friend sent a link to a GIF but it doesn't play on my HTC Desire HD, just comes up as a JPEG. Any ideas why? Same link works on my laptop.

Go to browser settings. GIFs are disabled by default. Just enable the plugin.

That is not even helpful. It is not an option anywhere, gifs do not even work. Is it because I am using a Galaxy Player 4.0?

Vidici,
according to the specs your Samsung Galaxy Player 4 supports GIF files. What if you save the GIF and watch it in the Gallery?

You can play them by clicking and downlaoding them on your message window, they will save to your gallery. I had the same problem, I was able to recieve GIFS and able send the ones that I'd recieved, I actually found that any GIFS that i'd made or downloaded I was unable to send. The answer is to resize them to a suitable GIF image size. no bigger than 175 X 175. GIF resizer prooved to be very effective.

***dont forget to add .gif to your newly created gif image.***
