Has anyone got Gingerbread yet?

Is anyone using Gingerbread yet? Will it be worth the wait? I’ve got an HTC Desire so I’m patiently waiting…

I had a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc for 8 days... To be honest, SE's hardware distracted me from enjoying any improvements Gingerbread may have to offer. I preferred the Froyo-rised HTC Desire HD a lot more.

Read up about Cyanogen7 and search for videos on youtube, that is based on Gingerbread so can give you an idea on it

Also why not just flash your HTC Desire to get Gingerbread now?

I've had it on my Desire since ... ermm.... Cyanogen 7 was released.
Froyo was the BIG jump, Gingerbread was more about extra features and fine tuning. I haven't noticed any massive improvement but then I don't use HTC sense as CM7 is pur Android (though I do have Open Home installed. Ohh look at the funny rotating screens :)

I use CyanogenMod7 too, as well as MIUI ROM. CyanogenMod has a wonderful feature that hasn't been replicated on any other ROM that I know of in that you can change the render colour - ie change the colours use to display the screen.

So what? Well there is a red screen (night) mode, like what you see in submarine movies. I use that at night in bed, and don't wake the missus. Ditto using it in the cinema. Worth it for that feature alone.
