Only three weeks till the iPhone 5S launch (er, not that Apple has, like, confirmed it or anything), and in the meantime the rumour mill continues to spin out of control like a yoyo on crack.
Two particular rumours have been reiterated, specifically the notion of a gold iPhone 5S, and the idea of a budget iPhone 5C.
They’re saying that the gold iPhone 5S will be “elegant”; “Think champagne, not ingot,” says one of the sources.
If true, it’ll be the first time the iPhone has been available in a colour other than plain old black or white. Other purported iPhone 5S specs include a fingerprint scanner on the Home button, and an option with 128GB storage.
Speaking of coloured iPhones, the budget iPhone 5C is tipped to come in a range of colours too, though the jury’s still very much out on its existence.
However, according to The Wall Street Journal and “people familiar with the matter”, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co is set to ship two iPhone models imminently: one high-end, one low-end.
With the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C tipped to launch together, possibly alongside an iPad 5 and/or iPad mini 2, September 10 is shaping up to be a pretty busy day. Of course, it’s been 10 months since the last iDevice launch, so it's about freakin' time.
