Gold Samsung Galaxy S5: exclusive to Vodafone, pre-orders from March 28

Gold Samsung Galaxy S5: exclusive to Vodafone, pre-orders from March 28The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available in four colours at launch, but if you fancy the gold edition in particular, prepare to see red (see what I did there?).

Yes, for us in the UK, the gold Samsung Galaxy S5 will officially be exclusive to Vodafone when it goes on sale next month.

That’s the word on the Official Vodafone UK Blog, confirmed in a lengthy Samsung Galaxy S5-flavoured post this morning.

The network writes: “Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled its latest and greatest flagship, the Galaxy S5, to the world. At Vodafone Social we were pretty excited to be able to say that we’ll be stocking the new Android powerhouse (which will be available to pre-order on 28 March), and today we can officially announce that the gold colour option will be a Vodafone exclusive from launch.”

Still, with just 11 days till those pre-orders open, there’s no word on Samsung Galaxy S5 price. Earlier rumours suggested the South Koreans hoped to set Galaxy S5 price lower than that of the Galaxy S4 at launch, while it’s been confirmed that US consumers will get a whopping $600-worth of freebies.

With Vodafone exclusively bagging the gold Samsung Galaxy S5, the other networks – along with Vodafone – will stock the flagship in blue, white and black.

Gold handsets have been all the rage of late, with a gold iPhone 5s, gold Samsung Galaxy S4, and gold HTC One.

Once you have a protective cover on you wont see the gold? For a phone costing £400 + you'd be nuts not to!
