Is there a good Android app for remotely tracking my phone?

Any suggestions or recommendations for an app that will let me track my phone and remotely wipe the data from it if it's stolen?

@emmajk42 The Desire HD has this built in by default, just set up HTC Sense on the phone and you can login online at https://www.htcsense.com/ track the phone, remote lock it, remote wipe it, make it ring etc.

antivirus Free AVG, wavesecure and lookout mobile security seem to have good reviews. They can let you remotely track where the phone is, turn up the ring volume to help you locate, turn on GPS etc and wipe data remotely.

I've heard of anti-droid theft. My OH actually just got it on his HTC Desire HD, but he hasn't really had the chance to use it yet. As far as I know, anti-droid theft has phone tracking capabilities, but not sure about the data deletion.

I use wavesecure, but there's a yearly subscription of $19.90:

I was lucky enough to get it before McAfee bought them out, which at the time was free for life.

Forgot to say WaveSecure also locks the phone if they swap sims and it screams at them until the correct pass code is entered, basically making the phone un-useable.:)

Hmmm HTC ahead of the game once again. You'd think Google would have implemented that since you have a Google account to use on the phone already and online login.

Thanks for all the tips :)

You are right... plenty of what-IFs! Cars are stolen and out of the country faster than Ryanair can say, 'surcharge'! Computers get hacked despite firewalls and av! And yes, if the thieves are quick-witted they can get away with your phone. The best prevention is to always remember how valuable the data on your phone is!
Martin James here just posted a quicknews piece about a study that shows what sensitive data people find on 2nd hand phones that they legally bought! http://www.mobot.net/selling-private-data-19643
The current hype around phone security software MUST NOT distract us from who the main culprit is: us! We leave phones lying around, we keep unnecessary data stored on them, we don't use pins - no, we hope an app will take care of all of that! It won't in most cases!
Just consider the problem we all face, e.g., with poor battery performance on modern touchscreen phones! Most of us turn off gps and wifi etc whenever we can. We limit background sync so our phone gets through a day on one charge. Yet, most security apps rely on enabled GPS and fast data - oh, and please don't lose your phone in the countryside where location by celltower might put it anywhere in a 10 mile radius ;)
