Good simple keyboard for Android?

Another question re. my One M8 experiment:

The keyboard on 'my' M8 is, imho, the worst thing ever. It feels like typing on jelly that is covered in oil... I have calibrated it and yada yada yada... It sucks.

Any recommendations for a simple 3rd party keyboard that does what gawd designed keyboards for: type. Quickly. I don't need slide this and emoji that...
Nor do I use spellcheck (surprisssed?) or any of that stuph...

Something between iOS and WP's simplicity.

Thanks.

Get the google keyboard app? They released the stock keyboard as a standalone app.

Get the google keyboard app? They released the stock keyboard as a standalone app. Ah, yes... I see, thanks. Will try that - works okay on our Galaxy Camera.

SwiftKey is what I use in all my phones

Yes, I remember Swiftkey - I used that on the Z1... I think the Google one's okay, too. I wish the One M8 would let me reduce screen responsiveness. It's way too "oily" for my taste... Very easy to accidentally do the wrong thing.

I use smart keyboard pro. It's nice but there are better keyboard solutions out there. I can't really be bothered to search for a new keyboard so it'll do for me. What I like is the fact that I can customise the keyboard. Only thing that bothers me is lack of swype but then I doubt i'd use it.

I use swipe gestures now and again. But tbh, I find it more useful on bigger screens. On the Lumia 1520 I swiped quite a bit. Mileage, man... my fingers are bleeding.

What amazes me is that many of those keyboards aren't better or more innovative than what was available for WinMo 5 and up...
