Good tablet for an old boy?
What's a good tablet for a grandparent of £60 would you say?
He's addicted to Ebay! iPad mini or Google Nexus 7?

The Nexus 7 is a cool geeks toy, but the iPad Mini and iOS make for a better tablet experience for a casual user, IMO.
My vote; iPad Mini.

I would go with the nexus 7 for price only. I have a mini but it is expensive just to surf the net or eBay.

A neighbour in her late 60s recently got a Nexus cause all her old mates have iPads... She returned it after 3 days, couldn't handle Android's many settings and services etc... Found it very confusing. She's very happy with her iPad. But agreed: just to surf, a Nexus is the better choice if money is an issue.
The iPad is nice if vision isn't so good anymore. The three-finger tap to zoom EVERYWHERE/system-wide is quite handy - dito the negative/reverse colour thingy.

Don't forget, the iPad has a much bigger display in an aspect ratio which makes more sense for web browsing.

I have to agree, I gave up my MacBook for an ipad as I mainly use the interweb, never looked back and I like the small iPad mini screen good to view and portability.
