Google announces July 24 event: Android 4.3? Moto X? Nexus 7 2?Grab your calendar and a pen, folks... OK, you're probably just going to fire up your phone's camera app, but that doesn't sound as good.

Anyhow, the point is we've got a date for you to take note of, as Google's just sent out invites for a likely Android-related press event in San Francisco on July 24. Yes, as in next week.

The invite doesn't mention Android as such – in fact, it hardly mentions anything at all, saying simply “Please join us for breakfast with Sundar Pichai”.

But considering Pichai is head of Android at Google, we're happy to do some reading between the lines. To be fair, he's also in charge of Chrome, but with several Android-related happenings set to go down over the next few months, that's where our money's going.

We could be talking the emergence at long last of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, or possibly the unveiling of the Motorola Moto X, which we're expecting round about now, or maybe the upgraded Nexus 7 tablet.

It could even be all of them. Or none. We'll know in a week's time.
