Google’s latest attempt at the social networking thing, Google+, is currently in invite-only beta mode. The lucky few can access Google+ via the Android app or the Apple-friendly HTML5-based web interface.
But good news for Apple users keen to get the app treatment. Google TV’s Erica Joy reckons it’s coming soonish.
Erica made the announcement on Google+ (what else?), telling friends/followers: “For my iPhone using friends: the Google+ iPhone app has been submitted to the App store (no not today, sometime prior to today) and is awaiting approval.”
When asked if the app would be available for both iPhone and iPad, Erica replied: “Not sure, I haven't even used it.” Of course, if there isn’t an iPad-specific version you can always stretch the crap out of the iPhone one.
Lady Joy added: "My iPad is sitting on its dock collecting dust." Am I sensing some anti-Apple sentiment here? Presumably she's never off her Motorola Atrix.
Google+ borrows elements from both Facebook and Twitter, and hopes to win users over with its Circles feature, which allows you to set up groups of friends. Facebook already offers a similar, but rarely-used, function.
