The LG-built Google Nexus 4 sold out in just over 30 minutes when it went on sale a couple of weeks ago, and there’s still no sign of further stock on Google Play, causing many customers to rip off their pants in frustration.
But there’s a new twist to the tale, as we’re hearing that many early Nexus 4 adopters are reporting a strange buzzing sound emanating from the device.
Remember the official Android issue tracker we were talking about the other day? In the story about Google finally addressing the 2.5 year-old Android issue?
Head over to said tracker, and you’ll find Issue 39936: Nexus 4 constant buzzing in earpiece.
The issue reporter explains: “When listening to earpiece, one can hear buzzing and clicking. It's very faint (>5" away can't hear it). Not sure if it's a shielding issue, or something that can actually be fixed.”
The Nexus 4 buzzing issue has been starred by a further 145 people, with 130+ comments at the time of writing. Some users report a constant buzzing, while others reckon it only occurs when they make or receive calls.
Interestingly, one chaps muses: “wonder if they didn't sell out rather then pull the current stock due to this issue? Either way ill be keeping a close eye on this issue”.
Google has yet to comment on the Nexus 4 buzzing issue, and with regards to Nexus 4 stock, says only: “We are out of inventory. Please check back soon.”
