Ah, the Google Nexus 4. It sold out in little more than 30 minutes when it first hit virtual shelves two-and-a-bit weeks ago, and we’re still waiting for an update in the UK.
In the US, however, the Google Nexus 4 is again available to order, but chances are you’ll have to wait till 2013 for delivery.
I cheekily flew over to Google Play’s US store via anonymous proxy, and confirmed the ludicrous shipping times.
If you fancy the 16GB Google Nexus 4 for $349, you’ll have to wait 4-5 weeks, so it might be delivered before the end of the year. Maybe.
Worse still, the shipping time given for the 8GB Google Nexus 4 at $299 is a whopping 8-9 weeks. Apple, eat your heart out. Nine weeks from now takes us to January 31.
As I say, that’s the story in the US. Looking at Google Play’s UK store, the Nexus 4 is still very much “SOLD OUT”, and all Google will say is: “We are out of inventory. Please check back soon.”
A couple of days ago I was saying that a number of Google Nexus 4 owners report a strange buzzing sound emanating from the earpiece, so maybe the lack of stock is a blessing in disguise.
