Google Nexus 5: get it while you can

Google Nexus 5: get it while you canWith the Google Nexus 6 having arrived earlier this year, 2013’s Google Nexus 5 has found a nice little niche as an affordable former flagship, currently going for as little as £239.99.

There seems to be some confusion in the Google camp, but the upshot is: if you’re thinking of grabbing a Nexus 5, don’t hang about.

The red and white Google Nexus 5s have been completely removed from Google Play on both sides of the Atlantic, leaving just the black version with 16 or 32GB internal storage.

However, both of those options are out of stock in the US and UK, leading some to speculate that the Google Nexus 5 was officially a-goner.

Adding fuel to the fire, a Google spokesperson told TechRadar: "Once they are gone, they're gone, so we'd suggest people get them while they can". Sounds pretty final to us.

But! A US Google spokesperson reached out to clarify that the Google Nexus 5 will be sold throughout Q1 2015, suggesting that it’ll be back in stock soon – completely contradicting what the other guy said. Zuh?

Again, you can still grab the red and white Google Nexus 5 from Expansys, where it’s currently selling from £239.99 with a free Google QuickCover case worth £25.
