The Google Nexus 5 is rather splendid in terms of value for money, but at present it’s only available in boring old black or white.
Good news if – like Jan – you’ve been holding out for a pinkish purple, as it’s seemingly one of six new Google Nexus 5 colours in the proverbial pipeline.
That’s the story according to Phone Arena, which has been sent an “interesting video” by “one of our loyal readers”.
Said video shows a user clicking through various Google Nexus 5 colour options on a mock-up of the Google Play store, including black, white, purple, orange, yellow, green, blue and red.
At the risk of raising the ire of Android fans, the new Google Nexus 5 colours bring to mind the fifth gen iPod touch. Not that I’m complaining; on the contrary, I think they look pretty good.
It’s expected that Google Nexus 5 specs will be otherwise unchanged, so that’s a 4.95in 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front shooter.
The Arena guys don’t have any further details, such as when we might expect the new Google Nexus 5 colours to touch down, or where they’ll be available. Indeed, they say we should “keep a skeptical mind”, but fingers crossed the new colours are the real deal.
