Ah, the Google Nexus 5. As a member of the Mobot team said this morning: “Dear GOD Google, can you please just announce the ****ing thing and be done with it?” We’re nothing if not hugely professional.
The Google Nexus 5 launch was tipped for October 14, then October 15, then it was Halloween… Now we’re told to mark November 1 in our diaries. Yawn.
As we patiently (ahem) await the official Google Nexus 5 launch, we’re getting another glimpse of the phone courtesy of prolific leakster @evleaks.
Two things to note here. Firstly, the Google Nexus 5 is shown in white, as suggested around a week ago. It took seven months for the white Google Nexus 4 to touch down, but it appears that the white Google Nexus 5 will be available from launch.
Secondly, the accompanying words read simply: “In white. 11/1”, November 1 being Friday this week i.e. four days from now. Thank f…
You’ll forgive us for being slightly irritable, but we’re keen for Google to put us out of our misery. To date, the Google Nexus 5 has been leaked in box form, in benchmarks, via its manual, via the FCC (1, 2), from a bar, and by Google themselves ("oops").
Expect Google Nexus 5 specs to include a 4.95in 1080p display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, wireless charging, and a choice of 16 or 32GB internal storage (sans microSD, of course).
More importantly, if the rumours are true, it’ll cost around half as much as an iPhone 5s.
