Google Nexus S, SIM-free, £430 @ Carphone Warehouse[Get your SIM-free Google Nexus S for £430 @ Carphone Warehouse]

Carphone Warehouse has taken a chainsaw to the price of the Google Nexus S, cutting it down from £550 to £430. That’s a rather impressive saving of £120. Bloomin’ ‘eck.

Google’s Nexus S is the first Android 2.3 smartphone. It comes with a 4in display, 16GB of built-in memory, and a 5MP camera with flash. Electric Pig reckons it’s “the best Android phone yet, by some considerable distance”.

Amazon is selling the SIM-free Google Nexus S for the substantially higher price of £599.99.

Carphone Warehouse is the only licensed seller in the UK at the moment, they have a fixed-term exclusivity deal. The only way you can get it elsewhere, including Amazon, is by buying from an individual seller, not a retailer.
The price was reduced to £430, before launch, by Google and Samsung, not by Carphone Warehouse and has only been on sale officially so far at this price.

Pay £70 and get the iPhone then? I don't see your point?

They reduced the price because the original price they had was thought to be too expensive. :)

Avoiding the iOS v Android war, it's a matter of personal taste, but i'd choose the open platform of Android every time.

After I got over the plasticky back (have got used to HTC aluminium) I've grown to love this phone. Gingerbread is great and the hardware actually feels very sturdy at the moment. The buttons feel a lot more confident than they do on the HTC Nexus One I have and the screen is tons better. Worth every penny I think.
