Forgot to say, it also, as you can see, includes a shot of the new Ice Cream Sandwich home screen....damn it's a good looking phone :p!!!

looks shexy have you seen the revised specs?

Dual core 1.5ghz
PowerVR SGX543MP2, or in other words, the same GPU found in the iPad 2
there's an 8-megapixel, full 1080p HD video-shooting camera
2050mAh

revised specs

Really that curved? Surely it's going to look stupid in your pocket.

Treab  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:17

no more stupid than having the note ;) tbh i recon that curve may make sense when using the phone? i often wonder if these straight phones are that well designed?

The specs look awesome, enough to beat the SGS2 in "geek world". The Mali 400 is inferior to the PowerVR SGX543MP2, (though has a far easier to say name :p).

So that's the GPU from the iPhone 4S with 50% more processing power on the CPU, well the king of power is decided then ;).

That battery should make it last easily a few days with relatively heavy use, I can get two and a half out of my SGS2 if I tone down the OC'ing and fiddle with the voltages.

I like the curved shape, it'll make it far nicer to use as a phone and I think it'll make the top/bottom of the screen seem less of a stretch for smaller hands.

As for the camera, is it the same unit that's in the S2, or is it a new one? If it's the same, it's good but not mind blowing, still better than 99% of other 'droid phones though.

Treab  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:29

couldnt tell you but i hope its true the original stats said a 5mp camera which made my gob drop as my first thought was... you mean the apple 4s has something over this phone ;)

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:34

Nah, it'll have an 8mp I reckon, why would Sammy fit a crappy old 5mp sensor when they have a relatively highly regarded 8mp sensor for free that they can use as it's already been developed for the S2. Also, I know it's possible by resolution, but does any 5mp phone camera record in 1080p at the moment?

Treab  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:37

i dont think so. 720p when using a 5mp the atrix works at 720p. upgrading to 1080p... but the original 'leaked' did say 5mp ;) IM NOT MAD :p

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:44

I know you're not mad, I saw the original leak as well :p. Ahh can the Atrix actually manage 1080p recording nowadays then?

Treab  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:47

matt matt matt...

IT WORKS AT 720P AND UPSCALES TO 1080P :p

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:51

So in short...no it doesn't do 1080p in the same way the Sensation, for example, can handle 1080p? Btw, any word on if this Nexus Prime has SAMOLED HD+ (I think that's what it's called nowadays ;)).

Treab  Oct. 6, 2011 at 23:58

on the link i cant find out if its a SAMOLED HD+ but the stats suggest its a 720p 4.65" screen but you knew that anyway :D

did u see watchdog and the HTC clip. so many idiots are coming out the woodwork now on htc's facebook going HTC SUCKS... some people need to get out more lol.

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 7, 2011 at 00:05

You're a student and you spent your Thursday evening watching watchdog ;)? No, I didn't see it, what were they saying about HTC? Who are a very good company in fact, in my experience.

I knew it was 720p HD and 4.65", I just really want it to be SAMOLED+ as it'll look unbelievably pretty....and better than a certain retina display...

Treab  Oct. 7, 2011 at 00:16

:O summer holidays no money typical broke student me :p

it was their repairs apparently they have had over 100 complaints from people who sent their phones in for repair and it wasnt done properly...

probably leas than 0.01 of all users (or maybe even less than 1% of all repairs) and yet all the freaks crawl out the woodwork and start bitching about HTC's lol... they call me a fanboy because i was being reasonable and saying grow up and stop saying because of that clip i will never buy anything from HTC lol

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 7, 2011 at 00:22

Wow, over 100....fu*k me...people really need to see perspective sometimes, most repairs are the owners fault anyway. HTC sell literally millions of phones, 100 complaints is pretty damn amazing IMO, HTC are renowned for their good build quality. Some people are idiots. Not surprised people called you a fanboy, you can't like things nowadays without being a fanboy, or dislike things withour being a fanboy of something else...

#madness

Treab  Oct. 7, 2011 at 00:30

best bit is the numbers of people posting that they had suffered issues which matched the ones in the program almost to the letter lol. it was embarrassing...

CTPAHHIK  Oct. 7, 2011 at 08:04

I have reservation due to the fact that it's curved. It's already pretty big phone and curved aspect of it might not sit well in a pocket.
This is just speculations that don't mean anything until phone ships. I'm hoping that Google for once will make a right bet on what they are delivering. All previous models were not iconic in any way and inferior to competition when they shipped.

CTPAHHIK  Oct. 7, 2011 at 08:18

In regards to HTC - they are not better or worse than any other big manufacturer. If you want customer service buy from Amazon or from providers store.
Phone should be serviced by provider while you are on a contract. If you buy phone SIM unlocked make sure to get from good retailer. Buying from Play or Expansys usually implies that you only covered by 30 days return policy.
It's always been you get what you pay for. Blaming HTC on Facebook does not highlight anything besides person's stupidity for getting into situation in the first place and not dealing with customer service correctly.
