Google to snap up Modu patents

Big phones with big screens are all the rage these days, but that wasn't always the case. BGR reports that Google has been given the green light to purchase a bunch of patents off defunct Israeli outfit Modu, a firm that came up with a tiny mobile phone concept in 2008 that could be placed inside a variety of larger sleeves. No sign yet as to what Google's interest might be, but Android engineers will no doubt be poring over the patents with beady eyes before too long.

Funny - I read about that years ago, and I always thought someone should make those.
