Grrr...Why wont my SE X10 minipro show up in my network?

No problem connecting to the wifi but can not get it to show as part of the network at all. Previous handset (Aino) showed up fine, I just cant see a setting that would make this one visible.... Am quite happy to be pointed and laughed at for being thick, its really starting to bug me!

I'm no wifi expert, but for starters I'm sure it'd help 'us' if you told us what OS you run on your PC? I use Ubuntu/Linux, and I had zero probs with the Sony Xperia Mini, but then - Ubuntu is a bit smarter than windows and Mac when it comes to the nitty-gritty.
Anyone here?

Don't think its the phone at fault, think its my ongoing inability to wrap my head around networks :/ Can't get an SE Elm or iPod Touch to show either.

Vista, plain and ordinary.

Hmmm....Seems to be a phone thing, up to four laptops show fine...

The only way I can get my HTC Hero or X10 Mini to show up on my Vista PC is to run a media sharing app, like iMediaShare or 2player, then I can see the media on it/ stream it to my PC/ TV via dlna.
