What happened to the Chinese iPhone 5?

Remember the Chinese iPhone 5 (running Android) that they rushed out based on rumoured iPhone 5 specs? And the implication was that they'd sue Apple when the real iPhone 5 was released? Whatever happened with that??

Well they didn't sue them. And they revised the specs so it's now much more underpowered than before.

It's known as Hero H2000+ for international audience. There is also ZoPhone i5 that has 1GB ram compared to the Hero's 512mb ram.

Prices from £130-£200 depending on which one you go for.

How do you know so much about strange, Chinese phones that aren't sold here :p?

I follow a lot of Chinese tech sites. Especially when i was looking for a dual sim phone for myself. The iPhone 5 clones above happen to be dual sim haha.

Are any of these Chinese phones viable alternatives to high-end phones that we see over here in Europe?

Yep, im on my phone right now so I cant post links. But if you google the following

Xiaomi mi2
Meizu mx2
Huawei honor 2 (2gb ram version)
BBK/Oppo finder 5 and 3.
Lenovo have a quad core phone as well.

There are a few others I cant remember but ill get back to you when I do.

High end zte and huawei handsets are usually sold outside china as well. Oh and Htc is Taiwanese which is ROC so you could consider them as a Chinese manufacturer as well but lets not go there.

Remember Meizu from way back, m3 or m6 mp3 player I think..
Honor 2 had a mention here recently, supposed to be coming out over here, looks interesting.

Finally found dimensions on the Oppo find 5 and that's impressive manufacturing..

"Oppo Find 5 is the thinnest Android phone with a 5 inch display and dimensions 129 x 65 x 6.9 mm"

Marginally smaller width than s2, not much taller and rather larger screen. Pity I'm unlikely to ever see one...

Scratch all that, from looking further that seems like it's not the 5"er dimensions, did seem bit too good to be true.
