Phones tells you that it's time to upgrade to 4S

1) Try plugging a 3.5mm jack in the headphone port several times,
If no good then try the above and then the following steps VV
backup the phones using itunes and then reset the phone to factory settings.
Had the same problem few weeks back, seems the phone get stuck sending sounds/music to the 3.5mm jack instead of the earpiece

I wanted to thank you .I had the same problem , actually went to the store and they said it's nothing they can do about it and i have to contact Apple. so glad i found your post , really worked for me and you just made my day
