Remember the HTC Titan? Living up to its name, the Titan had a monstrous 4.7in display, and was launched last year alongside the HTC Radar – both appearing in celebration of Windows Phone Mango’s arrival.
Well, over the past few days, the HTC Titan has mysteriously vanished from online retailers in the UK. What the…?
We’re waiting to hear back from HTC, but in the meantime the only explanation doing the rounds comes from a Phones 4U customer service rep.
- You: Are you still offering the HTC Titan?
- Ioan: No we no longer have the Titan but we do have the Radar which is a Windows handset
- You: why are you no longer carrying the Titan?
- Ioan: It was not very popular and was not really selling so it has been changed im afraid
Has HTC initiated a retreat from the Windows Phone market in light of Nokia's high-profile arrival? Well, HTC has been a Windows Phone partner since launch (October 2010), firing out six handsets in total. The Taiwanese didn’t bring anything new to Mobile World Congress, but did promise Windows Phone 8 devices.
The HTC Titan 2 was revealed at CES in January, doubling the megapixelage to 16, but the presence of LTE pretty much rules out a UK appearance.
