Ladies and gentlemen, meet the latest app in the mobile dating community. It’s called High There, and it’s developed with the “cannabis community” in mind. Seriously.
We doubt we’ll see it in the UK anytime soon, but Android users in US states where cannabis is legal can now use High There to find sexy stoners in their area without moving from their respective couch grooves. Dude.
As featured on CNBC, Glamour, Mashable and Time, High There looks to bring together single stoners, safe from the judgemental eyes of those who choose to live a drug-free existence. Y’know, other than alcohol. And painkillers. And caffeine. And…
The High There concept came from CEO Todd Mitchem, who found being a stoner on the dating scene tough going. As such, he dreamt up an app to weed out (pun intended) those who don’t enjoy the wacky backy.
"I hated dating on other sites and apps because as soon as the idea of my cannabis consumption came up—date over,” explains Todd. “I actually walked out of a date (after paying of course) and said to myself, that's it. Weeding out the Ms. Wrong from Ms. Right was complex. Selfishly I hope this helps others like me."
In terms of functionality, High There looks a little like Tinder, with the option to embrace or dismiss potential lovers, and there’s a little section where you can specify how you prefer to consume your pot. Great stuff.
