Ho hum, it's the Acer Iconia Tab A200

Ho hum, it's the Acer Iconia Tab A200Oh look, it's another Android tablet.

Acer already produces the 7in Iconia Tab A100 and the 10in Iconia Tab A500, but it's clearly spotted a space on retailers' shelves for another Android tablet to sit and gather dust along with the others, and so we have this – the Iconia Tab A200.

The previously unheard-of slate has just stopped off at the Bluetooth SIG for its certification, posing for a fairly decent quality photo along the way.

The Bluetooth SIG filing doesn't give too much away on the spec front, and that includes screen size, but with the model number sitting between the A100 and A500, we assume that the screen size does too and that Acer is laying down a marker in the newly fashionable 8in to 8.9in bracket.

That on its own isn't going to be enough for the A200 to stand out from the crowd, especially given its me-too design, so hopefully Acer has a couple of tricks up its sleeve to give this one some much-needed wow factor.

First prize would be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or perhaps a nice new quad-core Tegra 3 processor, but considering the A200 is already getting its Bluetooth stickers we're not getting our hopes up.

The A500 is actually not that bad, but too close to iPad price territory to make a mark.
