HP Slate 7 coming June 1, priced €149?

HP Slate 7 coming June 1, priced €149?Hewlett Packard’s Android-fuelled tablet, the HP Slate 7, is set to go on sale in the US later this month. But what about us in the UK?

Well, that’s a valid question, chap. Early evidence suggests an HP Slate 7 release date of – or around – June 1, with a price tag of €149. That’s roughly £127, in the Queen’s money.

HP has yet to give an official UK release date for the HP Slate 7, though it’s been spotted on French retailer Rue Du Commerce. You might recognise that name from the Acer Iconia A1-810 story yesterday.

Needless to say, in the absence of any official wordage from HP, we’d take the proposed HP Slate 7 release date and price with a pinch of salt.

What we do know for certain are HP Slate 7 specs, including a 7in display (1024 x 600), dual-core 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage (with microSD welcoming a further 32GB), a 3MP rear camera, VGA front shooter, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).

We can’t see the HP Slate 7 giving the Google Nexus 7 much trouble (the latter having more impressive specs and the promise of speedy Android updates), but good luck to you, HP.

Very much a "meeeeee toooooo" tablet here, why cant companies start doing something more interesting or appealing?

Bring out more docks, bring out supporting DLNA streaming devices that are easy to use, bring back USB ports and push more content creation or gaming credentials, as it is these are just lazy IMO

Ah, you're right easteryard. I'd confused dollars with euros. Thanks for the heads up! :)
