HP Touchpad price slashed to just £89

HP Touchpad price slashed to just £89Yesterday we touched on how the HP Touchpad has been heavily discounted over in the US in the wake of the company's decision to throw in the webOS towel.

Well, we've now had some details on local Touchpad discounts here in the UK, and the good news is you can pick one up right now from Dixons Online for as little as £89.

That's right – the Touchpad's price has now slipped under £100... well, for the 16GB model, anyway. The 32GB model will set you back £115.

Currys and PC World have similar deals on the go, and are even willing to refund or partially refund anyone who paid full price for the slate.

You'll need to move quickly, though, as the prices will only last as long as stocks do, and obsolete or not we can imagine sales being quite brisk at those sort of prices.

As far as I'm concerned, it's already out of stock. Looked in four different areas yesterday evening, including Central London and nowhere had stock. :(

In fact, from The Inquirer:
"Immediately on answering a recorded message told us that all Currys and PC World stores had sold out of Touchpads, both online and for collection and pre-order in-store.

The Carphone Warehouse had its own little sale of Touchpads and also ran its prices through a chainsaw. This morning the mobile firm's web site is displaying a message that says it has sold out and requests that people stop ringing it about it."
