A purported press shot for something called the HTC One X 5 got tongues wagging when it started doing the rounds on ye olde cybernet.
There were hopes that the HTC One X 5 might materialise at HTC’s September 19 event (er, that'll be tomorrow then). Alas, turns out it’s merely a concept design. Sonofa…
The HTC One X 5 was initially posted by Danny Tu over on flickr, and is essentially his vision of the rumoured DLX or – wait for it – 6435LVW.
It’s so called because the HTC One X 5 has, in theory, a large 5in display. That’d take it into phablet territory, being 0.3in bigger than HTC’s current flagship, the 4.7in HTC One X. Of course, this is all in Danny boy’s head.
One X 5 aside, HTC is expected to launch three Windows Phone 8 devices at its event tomorrow, namely the HTC Zenith, Rio and Accord.
However, it’s been just over six months since the HTC One X launched at Mobile World Congress 2012, and we’re just under six months from the next conference. Is the timing right for a new HTC Android flagship?
HTC has been on a bit of a downer of late, so it’ll be interesting to see what they have up their sleeves tomorrow.
