A couple of months ago (on my birthday, no less), I was scribbling about not one, not two, but three purported Windows Phone 8 handsets from Taiwanese manufacturer HTC.
One of those was the HTC Accord, and a render of said device has appeared on the interwebs via the twitters. See that Windows Phone 7 home screen? Yep, it’s definitely just a render.
A gentleman who goes by the name Football (an xda fellow) tweeted the render along with a handful of HTC Accord specs. They include a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 processor, 8 or 16GB internal storage, a resolution of 720 x 1280, 8MP rear camera, and microSD compatibility. Phew.
The initial report suggested that the HTC Accord would have a 4.3in display, NFC (Near Field Communication) support, and 1GB of RAM.
The HTC Accord was the middle of the three leaked HTC Windows Phone 8 handsets, the lower-end chap being the 4in HTC Rio (cue Duran Duran), and the big boy being the 4.7in quad-core HTC Zenith.
All three are, however, very much unofficial for now.
As a closing thought, it must be quite depressing being HTC. You've got Samsung dominating the Android scene, and Nokia ruling the Windows Phone roost. And with that, I'm off to drown my sorrows.
